We are excited to announce that the SATURN project's closing event will be held next week in Brussels, in conjunction with the Interreg North Sea-funded DEMASK project workshop on key URN metrics!

The outcome of this expert workshop is expected to be of value to practitioners, end-users and stakeholders directly involved in addressing the reduction of underwater noise. With several partners in common, the SATURN and DEMASK teams are maximizing synergies by combining efforts in this event to efficiently share outputs and explore fundamental issues of common and broader sectoral interest. Presentations and discussion topics will be arranged, tailored and optimised to facilitate meaningful connection with those involved in the IMO EBP and to support the DEMASK consortium to build on the SATURN results.

Event Proceedings

This two-part event will begin by highlighting the key SATURN project outputs by presenting them in the context of the current IMO URN Action Plan and Experience Building Phase (EBP), which is designed to facilitate the application of the IMO guidelines to vessels as part of the URN Management Planning Process*.

The second part of the event is presented in conjunction with the DEMASK project team and addresses the development of noise metrics that are essential to provide a harmonised technical framework for evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of underwater noise reduction measures across all the above initiatives and as a universal bridge towards attaining regulatory compliance in the context of evolving definitions pertinent to Good Environmental Status under MSFD D11.

Registration and Participation

This is a hybrid event that can be attended in person, or viewed online. However, as spaces are limited professional audiovisual services will be available throughout the event to ensure that offsite attendees will be able to log-in and contribute pro-actively to live discussion sessions.

This was a very informative and collaborative post about SATURN and DEMASK Project Workshop, Brussels, and I liked how it highlighted innovation, teamwork, and the importance of bringing different ideas and experts together to create meaningful solutions. The article does a great job of showing how workshops and shared knowledge can support progress, creativity, and future-focused thinking. Content like this is valuable because it encourages learning, planning, and smart decision-making, much like daily finance tips help individuals develop better money habits, manage their spending wisely, and improve their financial stability through small and consistent actions.

Such a well-written post and honestly one of the most underrated topics in entrepreneurship — trust isn't something you can manufacture overnight, it's built through consistent ethical behavior over time. The point about prioritizing integrity over short-term benefits is so important because so many early-stage entrepreneurs make the mistake of cutting corners for quick wins, not realizing that one unethical decision can permanently damage a reputation that took years to build. What really resonated is the idea of trusting your product and trusting yourself — because confidence is contagious, and if you genuinely believe in what you're building and stay true to your original vision, that energy naturally attracts the right partners and customers. For young entrepreneurs especially, understanding that…

This workshop sounds like a great step toward teamwork and solving big challenges together. I remember struggling with deadlines and choosing to Do My engineering Assignment with help so I could focus on understanding projects like these. That helped me stay calm and engaged. It shows how collaboration can lead to better solutions in complex areas.
