Our SATURN project coordinator Gerry Sutton, was on site today at MaREI, the SFI Centre for Energy Climate and Marine Research today, to deliver a brief talk to the Coastal and Marine Systems research cluster about the development of Underwater Noise research in Europe, with particular reference to how projects like JONAS and SATURN have contributed to the field.
The Coastal and Marine Systems group the at MaREI, under the direction of Jeremy Gault, has significant experience in conducting research in, and synergising outputs from fields such as:
Marine Governance
Climate Impacts and Adaption
Coastal Dynamics and Marine Systems Modelling
Marine Ecology
Coastal and Marine Science Communication, Stakeholder Engagement and Societal Impact
Leveraging the combined skills of researchers in these areas, the CMS group develop integrated solutions and conduct internationally and nationally funded research and consultancy in a broad range of projects and initiatives including SATURN and its precursor project JONAS.
As part of this event, Gerry took the opportunity to discuss the development of the SATURN VRE (Virtual Research Environment) which will be finalised in the new year!

Reading the CMS Research Cluster Presentation post genuinely connected with me as it highlights how collaborative research and interdisciplinary thinking can shape real scientific progress something I’ve come to value deeply in my own academic journey. As a current PhD student who also works part-time at Academic Editors and assists students in their academic work, I have a deep interest in helping others because during my college days I suffered a lot from these types of hustles trying to format and review my Capstone project formatting and review and struggled to express complex ideas clearly, so I’m really conscious about both my own studies and supporting others through their academic challenges. Seeing initiatives like this presentation, where experts engage and share insights that…
Reading the CMS Research Cluster Presentation reminded me of why I chose to pursue a PhD and why I'm so passionate about research and academic support the way the team at this event brought together diverse expertise in marine systems and collaborative research really reflects the kind of interdisciplinary thinking that drives real scientific progress, from understanding underwater noise patterns to advancing tools that support scientific communities and future innovation As a current PhD student who also works part‑time at Affordable Assignment and assists students in their academic work, I often help them write my assignment effectively, because during my own college days I suffered a lot from these types of hustles and struggled with understanding and explaining advanced topics clearly, which is…
Thought provoking and carefully detailed, this post delivers real value to readers. The explanations feel grounded and practical, which makes complex points much easier to understand. While reading, I was reminded of a related perspective shared on https://searenovation.com/ that complemented many of the ideas you mentioned. Your ability to combine clarity with insight makes this a compelling and informative piece worth revisiting.
Impressive overview of the CMS research cluster presentation. The structure of your explanation made complex research initiatives feel accessible and relevant to a broader audience. While reading, I was reminded of a discussion on https://www.whirlwell.net/ that also emphasized collaboration in innovation. Your article clearly captures the importance of shared knowledge and forward thinking in research communities.
Presentation of the CMS research cluster offered a clear overview without overwhelming the reader. The structure made complex research themes feel accessible and relevant. I appreciated how you connected collaboration with innovation in such a practical tone. While reading, I was reminded of a thoughtful discussion I once saw on https://www.carsoup.com/ where clarity in communication was equally emphasized. Content like this makes academic initiatives far more approachable to a wider audience.
