Thomas Lloyd, MARIN

Our partners at MARIN recently presented their work on modelling the mitigation effect of air injection on ship URN at two separate workshops which focused on the impact of underwater noise on marine fauna.
BluEcho Project (15th-16th October)
Underwater Noise Pollution: BluEcho project (15th-16th October). BluEcho, which is coordinated by the University of Trieste (DIA Engineering and Architecture and DEAMS Economic, Business, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences Departments), is an exciting new research project that aims to address underwater noise pollution, assessing the level of noise generated by ships and wind farms in the Adriatic, North and Baltic seas.
Bioaoustics Day (29th October)
Bioacoustics Day (29th October). This year’s edition of the Bioacoustics Day was jointly organised by WUR, IBL, IMR and VLIZ, and was designed to provide scientists, industry and government with an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn about recent innovations and research in the field of underwater acoustics. SATURN colleagues Kees te Velde and Hans Slabbekorn from University of Leiden were also present at this event, with Hans participating in its organisation.
MARIN's presentations at these workshops, were based on a previous conference paper that was delivered as part of INTERNOISE2024, entitled, “A procedure for estimating mitigation effect of air injection on ship underwater radiated noise”.

This is an insightful recap of the workshop — the step-by-step overview of participation was particularly useful. The way you explained the topic was very clear and helpful. I recently read a piece on a review blog that discussed similar workshop approaches, and it subtly referenced https://www.rosedalewellness.com/ in the context of fostering well-being through professional collaboration. Your post really adds value for anyone looking to engage meaningfully in these programs.
