Tuning up the measurement equipment for the underwater radiated noise tests
TSI -Técnicas y Servicios de Ingeniería S.L. is responsible for conducting underwater radiated noise tests for the project. Last March, TSI traveled to Gran Canaria to visit Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN) colleagues, who will provide the facilities for conducting these measurements.
The first of the URN measurement sea trials have started. Such noise tests require the use of, mainly:
📡 Communication buoy (x1)
🎤 Hydrophones (x3)
📍 GPS (x2; communication buoy & ship)
The objective so far has been to check the proper functioning of the measurement equipment, using them in controlled (hydrodynamic channel) and natural environments (Pantano de San Juan, Madrid).
